The United Arab Emirates has released the third edition of the TradeTech report, focusing on the role of advanced technologies in enabling more efficient and flexible global supply chains. Titled 'The TradeTech Paradox: Connectivity Amid Fragmentation,' the report presents a comprehensive framework called the 'TradeTech Architecture,' which involves countries, regulatory bodies, and companies in creating a smarter, more inclusive, and efficient global trade system. The report was officially announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the need for collective thinking to ensure the full adoption of advanced technologies across the global trade community. The report identifies four key levels within the TradeTech architecture: the global foundational framework, national governance, trade enablers, and producers/exporters. It highlights how technologies like AI and blockchain are replacing traditional human-dependent processes across various stages of global supply chains. Launched three years ago as a partnership between the UAE and the World Economic Forum, the TradeTech initiative aims to support and accelerate the adoption of technology in international trade, fostering free and fair trade that enriches communities worldwide.
